Get a self-fusing silicone tape. This is a good solution for a drain pipe that is leaking. Wrap it around the plumbing pipe and it fixes the leak. If you had an emergency drain pipe, like water coming out of the drain pipe underneath the sink, simply wrap this tape around nice and tight overlapping it. This is a good solution for a leaky drain pipe as it basically stops an emergency drain leak. However, you still need the help of a plumber to fix this as it is not a full term solution but a quick fix that you can do to stop the leak for a while.
Another interesting thing about this tape is that it can stop an active pressure leak. This tool can fix an active spewing pipe. Basically, you are going to wrap several times on the left-hand side of the leak and come over to the right-hand side and wrap several times. And when you get to finally wrapping over the top of where the leak is, wrap that enough times get a nice stretch on there. Stretch it nice and tight wrap it all the way around and once you get enough pressure on there you can get that pipe completely seal an active high-pressure leak. Sealing an active pressure leak will get you wet but this tool can fix the leak.
Pipe leak doesn't happen very often but this tape is really a good tool to have in your toolbox.
