A clogged drain can be troublesome. You might even think of not looking for help and fix it yourself. Many will opt for the cheaper DIY alternative plumbing solution because it seems like an easy task to take. Others make an attempt to fix the drain if they know how plumbing snakes works.
You can find DIY drain cleaning products at the supermarket. The problem with these products you mostly see in the market is that they will give you a temporary fix but can cause corrosion to metal parts in your drain system which can add up to the problem in the long run.
What Causes a Blocked Drain
Several causes can block your drains such as grease, foreign objects, toilet paper, and so on.
Grease. The drain can have a problem when oil and fat build-up and solidifies into the drain. While this can be an easy fix and not that complicated or expensive for residential houses, but this can be a problem if you have a food establishment.
Foreign objects or debris. Unwanted objects can be anything, and at times plumbers are amazed at what they found clogging drains. Some items they mostly find are tampons, silicone tubes, beer cans, socks, air fresheners, and things you won’t even expect to be there.
Bathroom tissue. Toilet papercan block a drain. This is the most common issue for drains to get clogged. However, this is just a minor and can easily be solved.
